This made Lord Ganesha furious and cursed Goddess Tulsi back. He said Goddess Tulsi will only get married to an asura (demon). Learning everything Goddess Tulsi repented for what she had done and asked for mercy. So, Lord Ganesha blessed Her that the leaves of the Tulsi plant will be accepted by Lord Vishnu, the Preserver, and help mortal beings to attain salvation in Kaliyuga.
